1:54 Contemporary African Art Fair New York 2015

Brooklyn, New York, Etats-Unis, 15 - 17 May 2015

1:54 is a platform for galleries, artists, curators, art centres and museums involved in African and Africa related projects and aims to promote art by established and emerging talents amongst an international audience.

A reference to fifty-four countries that constitute the African continent, the title of 1:54 establishes the parameters of the fair's ethos: as a platform that strives to represent multiplicity and showcase the diversity of contemporary African art and cultural production on an international stage.

1:54 is initiated by market developer Touria El Glaoui under the auspice of Art Africa Ltd. Designed by Rashid-Ali / RA Projects, 1:54 New York is held at Pioneer Works, an outstanding industrial building in the vibrant and creative neighbourhood of Brooklyn dedicated to the nurturing and showcasing of art.

1:54 is accompanied by an educational and artistic programme curated by Koyo Kouoh and includes lectures, film screenings and panel debates featuring leading international curators, artists and art experts.
